What is the PSSPF and why do I have to contribute?
The Private Security Sector Provident Fund is a legislated retirement fund for all employees in the private security sector. Contributions are mandatory under the NBCPSS Main Collective Agreement — both employers and employees contribute 7.5% of gross salary each month. Non-compliance carries significant legal and financial penalties.
What is a Floatpays Rep11 schedule?
The Rep11 contribution schedule is the format required by Salt EB / Floatpays for submitting PSSPF contributions. It includes employee details, salary, contribution amounts, and branch (Paypoint) information for every employee. Presto generates this file automatically — fully formatted and ready to upload.
What is DetermClear and do I need it?
DetermClear handles the situation where an employee obtains a PFA determination against you and you pay it — but your historical contribution schedules still show that employee as outstanding, creating double liability. DetermClear flags the affected periods as settled and resubmits clean schedules automatically. If you have ever had a PFA determination, or employ more than 10 people in a high-turnover environment, you need this.
Why does Presto verify IDs against Home Affairs?
PSiRA requires that all registered security guards have verified identity. Employing a guard with a fraudulent ID number exposes your company to criminal liability. Presto verifies every guard's ID against the SA Home Affairs database when they are first loaded — confirming identity, citizenship, and that the ID is live. This costs R 2.99 per employee and is absorbed by Presto on your first invoice.
Do I need to cancel my existing payroll software?
No. Presto is a compliance layer that sits alongside your existing payroll software. On the Growth and Business plans, Presto integrates directly with PayrollPlus so data flows automatically. On the Starter plan, you can manually capture or import employee data. Presto handles the PSSPF compliance piece — it does not replace your payroll system.
How long does the free trial last and what does it include?
The free trial lasts 30 days and includes all features of your chosen plan — including Home Affairs ID verification and DetermClear. No credit card is required to start. We recommend running at least one full month-end cycle during your trial so you can see the Floatpays export generated and validated before you commit.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export all your contribution history, employee records, and generated schedules at any time before cancellation. We retain your data for 90 days after cancellation in case you change your mind, then it is permanently deleted in compliance with POPIA.
When will Affinity Health and NBCPSS submissions be available?
We are currently in discussions with Affinity Health and the NBCPSS for Phase 2 and Phase 3 integration. Existing Presto clients will be notified as soon as these modules are ready, and pricing will be adjusted accordingly — current clients will receive advance notice before any price changes take effect.
